When a customer asks for "the small one" or "the thin one", they are talking about pouch format. Most brands sell the same flavour in more than one size, and the format affects how a pouch feels, how strong it is and who buys it. For a shop or distributor, knowing the difference between Slim, Mini and Regular pouches makes it easier to answer questions and to build a range that covers every customer. This guide explains the three main formats and how to mix them in a nicotine pouches wholesale order.
The three main formats
Brands use slightly different names, but most pouches fall into one of three groups:
| Format | What it is | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Slim | A thin, long pouch. The most common format today and the main format for brands such as ZYN and VELO | Most regular users. It sits comfortably and is discreet |
| Mini | A small, short pouch, often with less nicotine than the Slim version of the same flavour | New users, light users and customers who want something very discreet |
| Regular / Original | A larger, wider pouch, closer to a traditional snus portion | Former snus users and customers who want a fuller pouch |
Some brands also sell extra-thin versions, often called Super Slim or Ultra Slim. Always check the product page and the can, because size names and nicotine content differ between brands.
Slim pouches
Slim is the format most customers ask for, so it should be the core of your range. Good examples we stock:
- ZYN Cool Mint Slim
- ZYN Spearmint Slim
- ZYN Apple Mint Slim
- ZYN Black Cherry Slim
- SIBERIA -80 All White Slim (strong, only where permitted)
- WHITE FOX Slim
Mini pouches
Mini pouches are a good way to reach customers who find standard pouches too big or too strong. Most Minis we stock are in our light group, and some are in our medium group.
| Brand | Mini products we stock | Strength group |
|---|---|---|
| ZYN | Cool Mint Mini, Spearmint Mini, Apple Mint Mini, Coffee Mini | Light |
| VELO | Crispy Peppermint Mini, Simply Spearmint Mini, Wintery Watermelon Mini, Purple Grape Mini | Light |
| LOOP | Smooth Mint Mini, Jalapeño Lime Mini, Creamy Cappuccino Mini | Light |
| XQS | Cool Ice Mini | Light |
| ICEBERG | Arctic Mint Mini, Watermelon Mini, Green Apple Mini | Medium |
| PABLO | Mini Ice Cold 15 mg, Mini X-Ice Cold 15 mg | Medium |
Regular and Original pouches
Larger pouches are a smaller segment, but they matter if you have customers moving from traditional snus. An example is SIBERIA -80 All White Original, which is a strong product and should only be sold where permitted and to experienced users.
How to mix formats in your order
- Start with Slim. Put most of your order into Slim best sellers in mint and cool mint.
- Add a few Minis. Two to four Mini SKUs cover new and light users without taking much shelf space.
- Offer the same flavour in two formats. For example, stock both ZYN Cool Mint Slim and ZYN Cool Mint Mini. Customers can stay with their flavour and choose the size and strength they want.
- Label the format on the shelf. A small "Slim" or "Mini" label next to the strength saves time at the counter.
Our minimum order is 24 rolls (240 cans), and you can mix brands, formats and strengths freely. A simple first order could be 8–10 Slim SKUs at 2 rolls each plus 3–4 Mini SKUs at 1–2 rolls each.
Selling responsibly
Pouch size is not the same as strength. A small pouch can still contain a lot of nicotine, so always check the strength on the can. Check the rules for nicotine pouches in your country before ordering, check age on every sale, and keep strong products behind the counter. As the importer or retailer, you are responsible for what you sell.
